Tuesday's All-Greek Career Workshop at the University of Nevada provided students with valuable career planning best practices, in advance of next week's big career fair.
Two campus career experts gave fifteen students insight and tips to preparing themselves for the Fall 2014 All Majors Career Fair, taking place on October 16. Alison Gaulden (Reynolds School of Journalism Internship Coordinator) and Jim McClenehan (College of Business Administration Director of Corporate Relations) shared viewpoints and answered many questions about resume writing, cover letters, interviewing, career fair attire, and networking. The workshop was filled with extremely valuable information, particularly for students currently seeking jobs and internships.
Students left the workshop with pages of notes, ideas to improve their career fair readiness, and feeling more confident about the entire job-hunting process. A couple students even walked away with job recommendations.
Both Jim and Alison emphasized the value of attending next week's career fair as well as taking advantage of the many workshops, resume reviews, and networking opportunities taking place throughout the week. They also encouraged students to utilize the Career Studio, where they can research jobs, write resumes, and take assessments.
