This Week's Campus Career Activities
As many campuses are in finals-mode this week, there are very few career workshops and fairs on college campuses. However, we do know of the following career-related activities taking place this week.
Monday, December 7
Thursday, December 10
Friday, December 11
Chapter Position Surveys
The following surveys have been created to identify skills and characteristics which can be successfully utilized in the workplace. While surveys for most all chapter positions will be created, we've designed the following. Please take a moment to complete the following surveys.
If you didn't serve in one of these positions, please ask fellow chapter members to participate.
Invitation to Nevada students
We're conducting a presentation on Millennials in the Workplace to the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association on Thursday, December 17 in Carson City. The breakfast event, which begins at 7:30am, will be attended by 40-60 hiring managers.
We're looking for two students to participate on our panel of millennials, who will share thoughts about careers, workplace expectations, and leadership. You will be joining two recent alums on the panel.
This could be a golden opportunity to connect with potential employers.
Click here to let us know if you're interested in participating.

What are your Personality Traits?
The building block of successful career development is comprised of four components: skills, values, interests and personality traits. Personality traits are distinguishing qualities or characteristics that are the embodiment of an individual habitual patterns of behavior, temperament and emotion.
Many hiring managers believe that less tangible skills associated with a candidate's personality, such as a positive attitude, matter just as much as hard skills. In fact, some employers said they value personality traits more than hard skills when evaluating candidates for a job.
You may have many positive personality traits, which can be effective in the professional workplace. Do some of the following apply to you? Are there others? Let us know!
Employers - Take advantage of our candidate directories
Many of the employers in our network are registered through our Campus Subscription model, where we create opportunities for them to meet and learn more about student and alumni candidates affiliated with specific college campuses. If you're not part of this program and wish to learn more, click here.
If you're subscribed to a particular campus, be sure to take advantage of our candidate directories. The directories contain candidate names, class years, majors, and career interests. Upon clicking each name, the candidate's profile will appear, featuring his or her resume. They're listed in Career Capital (CC) order, a numerical indicator generated through each candidate's interest shown through attendance at workshops and other career events, updating personal career profiles, and engagement with executive leaders at Greek Ladders.
Use the Holiday break to your advantage
