Use Action Verbs to Describe Your Experience
15 seconds. We hear it from frequently from recruiters. If all they give is 15 seconds to review a resume, one way to catch their attention is by using strong action verbs.
As you write your resume, particularly to describe your work experience, and college and community involvement, be sure to use appealing action verbs. The words will accentuate experiences, skills, and characteristics, they'll leap from the page.
Not every action verb works for everyone, here are a few to consider for your resume:
Management/Leadership Skills
Administered - Authorized - Delegated - Directed - Established - Increased - Instituted - Managed - Organized - Produced - Strengthened - Supervised
Communication Skills
Arranged - Authored - Composed - Developed - Formulated - Interviewed - Moderated - Negotiated - Presented - Recruited
