Kappa Alpha Order's national and chapter officers converged on the University of Nevada campus for the western Province Council this weekend. We were fortunate to conduct two different networking workshops.
Like any other fraternity and sorority regional leadership conference, students travel miles and miles overnight to the final destination, where they'll interact with fellow organization members from other campuses for a day or two of learning. Dressed to the nines, about 150 chapter officers and national leaders celebrated the Order's accomplishments, discussed important matters, and shared best practices for chapter growth.
We were asked to conduct two workshops on networking, which we happily accepted. One session took place in the morning, after a risk management session, just before lunch. We designed this session to describe the whys and hows to proper networking.
We elected to call a quick audible and reformat the presentation for the second group of Kappa Alpha leaders. This one focused on the impact of networking on campus relations, recruitment, alumni relations and, of course, career planning.
